
The
principles presented are borrowed from work being carried out in the Federated
States of Micronesia (FSM). The nine principles are from the elementary
science curriculum document used in the states of Chuuk, Pohnpei and Kosrae.
The principles emerged during a two-week workshop in January, 1993. The
workshop involved FSM teachers and administrators as part of the FSM/Australia
Science Education (FASE) project.
