Pacific Standards for Excellence builds upon the work of a number of outstanding groups to reform Mathematics and Science education: the American Association of the Advancement of Science, the National Research Council, the National Science Teachers Association, National Council of Teachers of Mathematics, the National Staff Development Council, the National Board of Professional Teaching Standards and the National Center for the Improvement of Science Education. The Pacific Standards for Excellence reflects many of the ideas put forth by these groups.
